computer vision, and machine learning.As the engineering team leader, you'll work closely with local engineering staff and a team of experts to design and execute your team's feature roadmap.You will have direct input into requirement definition, and will work closely with our customers, developers and product managers to define, develop and deliver new products and features.The ideal candidate is equally obsessed with delivering the best possible customer experiences and leading and building strong teams.They define software architecture, communicating effectively with engineers, partners, leaders and a broad set of stakeholders.This leader can think long-term, advocate for strong engineering excellence, and bring in their own software development best practices as well as follow best practices from the broader development community in Amazon.The ideal candidate has a passion for Amazon Devices like TV, Echo and video entertainment and/or advertising combined with an established track record delivering break-out consumer software experiences.Key job responsibilitiesWork with product management and cross functional teams to build and ship technical solutions for desired user experiencesProvide hands on technical leadership to the team, design reviews, and prioritizationImplement process improvements for both your own and surrounding teamsAdvise senior and executive managementDefine detailed technical requirements from high level product requirements and enable your team to do the sameCollaborate with and influence various internal and external teams to deliver technical infrastructure relevant to the projects owned by your teamDrive and facilitate innovation within the teamManage team priorities, headcount projections, recruiting and continuous performance evaluationsMonitor, drive and facilitate individual growth of your team's individual contributorsOwnership of the overall systems development life cycleExecution against project plans and timely years of engineering team management experience7+ years of engineering experience8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teamsExperience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersOur inclusive
