Project Officer for Capacity DevelopmentAll information for requirements and application at the following link:Interested candidates should submit their CV to the email (cover letters and reference letters can be submitted too) within 16th January ****.Specify "Project Officer for Capacity Development".CIMA Research Foundation is seeking a motivated professional who may bring either a research-oriented or a project management–oriented background, with demonstrated interest in international cooperation, capacity development, and applied Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), particularly in Africa and Latin America.Candidates may come from:a research/technical background with exposure to international projects and interest to grow experience also in project management; ora project or programme management background with solid experience managing technical initiatives in DRR, Early Warning Systems (EWS), or climate adaptation.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorking in close coordination with Programme Directors and thematic experts, the selected candidate will contribute to the implementation of international cooperation and capacity development projects on Disaster Risk Reduction, Early Warning Systems, and climate risk adaptation.Key responsibilities include:Supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of international projects, from technical activities to operational delivery.Contributing to the design and execution of capacity development initiatives, including trainings, technical workshops, operational guidance, and simulation exercises.Liaising with donors, national institutions, regional organizations, and project partners, fostering effective coordination and knowledge exchange.Supporting project monitoring, scheduling, and reporting, ensuring alignment with agreed objectives, indicators, and timelines.Coordinating inputs from technical experts, local consultants, and partner institutions, including during field missions.Participating in and, when appropriate, supporting the organization of field missions, stakeholder meetings, and institutional dialogues.Contributing to cross-project learning, documentation of good practices, and continuous improvement of project approaches.The candidate may support multiple projects simultaneously, depending on scale and complexity, and will be expected to work flexibly across technical, coordination, and communication tasks.Minimum Qualifications:Education:Advanced university degree (Master's degree, equivalent or higher) in environmental engineering, earth science, water sciences, disaster management or a closely related field.Find out more about core experience, required skills and competencies at the following link:Overview of the assignment:Duty station: Savona (Italy), with frequent field missions whenever required by the project.CIMA applies a flexible home-working policy.Level: from V to IIDuration: Fixed term contract of one year renewableGross annual amount: from ****** € to ****** €Expected starting date: February ****.For candidates holding non-EU citizenship, the covering letter must clearly state whether the candidate already possesses a valid residence permit, along with its expiry date.The candidates, after CV evaluation, will be contacted for an interview.Based on the interview outcomes, a proposal for a position within CIMA will be made to the candidates.The proposed compensation and level will be commensurate with experience: factors such as demonstrated hard and soft skills, education level and relevant work experience will all be evaluated.#J-*****-Ljbffr
