vacancy announcement).BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENTThe Strategic and Operational Information Management (SOIM) function plays a critical role in creating and maintaining a common operational picture of WFP operations.With Country Offices (COs) reporting directly to the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer (DED&COO) the need for a streamlined coherent and responsive flow of strategic and operational information is essential.To support this shift the DED&COO Office is consolidating the Operational Information Management global function to ensure that information flows between Global Headquarters (GHQ) and COs are timely accurate and strategically aligned.This consolidation enables a unified executive voice and strengthens evidence-based decision-making across all levels of the organization.The OIM function is responsible for coordinating consolidating and managing information flows ensuring that WFP leadership has access to a consistent and comprehensive operational picture while also reducing duplication and enhancing coherence in internal and external messaging.ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the development and institutionalization of SOIM governance frameworks across WFP including standard operating procedures workflows and quality assurance mechanisms to guide coherent information flows.Support the design refinement and dissemination of SOIM tools templates guidance and training materials ensuring alignment with evolving operational contexts and field-based best practices.Promote automation and digital innovation in SOIM workflows to streamline processes reduce duplication and enable advanced analytics using corporate platforms and dashboards.Lead / support on the development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy / approach for SOIM to promote the responsible use of AI among OIM practitioners.Identify opportunities to improve existing or develop new technological solutions compatible with corporate ICT ecosystem and existing SOIM digital infrastructure.Maintain regular formal and informal communication with assigned regional and country offices to ensure effective information flow between Global Headquarters (GHQ) and COs including regular engagement with colleagues from cross functional teams to have an informed holistic view of issues impacting WFP.Provide guidance to COs and ensure quality of SOIM and other reporting products as required supporting the training for OIM Officers.Provide analytical and technical support to COs in streamlining reporting and analysis tasks.Support team lead with longer-term planning and implementation of OIM initiatives including updates to normative guidance and the OIM compendium learning and development opportunities review / revisions / rollout of reporting templates and related guidance and contributing to brainstorming on the OPSCEN setup and service.Backstop / support other team members and fill rotational coverage of COO processes which are divided amongst the entire team.Any other tasks as required.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREDEducationUniversity degree in International Relations Political Science Conflict Analysis Information Management Journalism Data Science or other relevant fields.ExperienceBetween 6 and 10 years of postgraduate related professional work experience.Knowledge & SkillsExcellent writing skills in English with a demonstrated ability to research draft and clear concise information products or analysesDemonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data extract key insights and communicate findings clearly to senior stakeholders.Sound understanding of information and knowledge management principles including familiarity with best practices tools and processes.Knowledge of common business principles and processes with the ability to quickly learn and navigate UN / WFP-specific systems and procedures.Strong ability to use standard corporate software and Microsoft Office.Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.Proven ability to deliver high-quality outputs while managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.High capacity for planning organizing and coordinating tasks independently within a diverse team environment.LanguagesFluent in English with excellent writing skills and
