Position descriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for upgrading and optimizing the ion microprobe setup at RBI, which utilizes dual microprobe and a suite of Ion Beam Analysis (IBA) techniques for the elemental analysis and imaging of energy storage materials, with the focus on detection of light elements and monitoring of electrochemical processes.The research will be conducted primarily at the accelerator facility of the Ruder Boškovic institute (RBI) managed by the Laboratory for ion beam interactions, Experimental physics division of RBI in Zagreb, Croatia.Part of the experimental work will be done at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, partner facility within the CERIC-ERIC consortium.Qualifications and other requirementsWe require a Masters or equivalent degree in physics.The successful candidate should have a degree in physics and have obligation to enroll to a PhD studies in physics.Therefore, the candidates should have GPA not lower than 80% of the maximum possible, i.e. to allow direct enrolment to the PhD studies.Specifically, the ideal candidate should have :Experience with experimental physics practices and methodologies;Fluent English, both written and spoken, is essential (minimum B2 level), and knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.Additional QualificationsKnowledge and experience in the application of Ion Beam Analysis techniques;Knowledge about material analysis;Experience in programming (i.e. Python, MATLAB, etc.).The following competencies are considered a plus :Strong affinity for experimental work;Capacity for independent and creative approach in solving tasks;Interpersonal and collaboration skills for work in the interdisciplinary team.What We OfferBenefits : 33 days of holidays per year, flexible working time;Training possibilities;Possibility to work partially remotely.The duration of the contract will be 48 months.How to applyThe applicant must send a CV in the European Format and should complement the application with a recommendation letter.The applications should be sent to the following email address : , with the following subject of the mail : Project LEMIS.Deadline for application : Open until filledFor further information, please contact : , ,About CERICThe Consortium was set up with the European Commission's decision on June ****, ********** / EU) and its Statute was published in ************* in the EU official Gazette.CERIC provides open access to some of the most advanced analytical facilities in Europe to help science and industry advance in all fields of materials, biomaterials and nanotechnology.#J-*****-Ljbffr
