Industrial Controller / Operations Business Partner
Role Overview
The Industrial Controller / Operations Business Partner is the key finance and performance partner for Operations Leadership and the Managing Director on industrial and operational performance matters.
The role focuses on industrial controlling, productivity analysis, labour cost management, operational KPIs, process optimization and continuous improvement. The position supports the development of a more data-driven and performance-oriented operating model through robust analysis, reporting and business partnering.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Operations Leadership to monitor and improve operational performance. Analyse production processes, operational flows and efficiency improvement opportunities. Develop and maintain operational KPIs, productivity metrics and performance dashboards. Analyse labour productivity, workforce utilization,
working hours
and operational cost drivers. Support production planning through capacity analysis and operational performance insights. Monitor production, warehouse and logistics costs, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting cost control initiatives. Support implementation of reporting tools, dashboards and performance management routines. Work with IT and business functions to improve data quality, reporting processes and analytical capabilities. Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence projects. Promote a structured, data-driven approach to decision-making and performance management across operations. Contribute to the implementation of new processes, systems and operational control models. Reporting & Systems Support the evolution from manual reporting towards structured and automated reporting solutions. Develop practical dashboards and reporting tools using operational and financial data. Contribute to database structuring, data governance and reporting reliability. Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, IT, Production, Procurement and Warehouse teams. Support training and adoption of KPI discipline and performance management practices. Required Experience Degree in Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar disciplines. 8–12 years of experience in industrial controlling, operations finance, manufacturing performance management or operational excellence. Experience in complex production or manufacturing environments. Strong knowledge of labour productivity, workforce planning and operational cost analysis. Experience with ERP systems, business intelligence tools and operational reporting. Advanced Excel skills; Power BI or similar BI tools preferred. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Good English proficiency. Personal Profile Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to connect operational performance with financial outcomes. Proactive, hands-on and results-oriented approach. Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities. Ability to influence without direct authority. Comfortable operating in fast-paced and complex environments. High level of ownership, resilience and accountability.
Location:
Western Milan area Compensation: 65/80k, depending on experience and seniority.
