We are expanding our DIGI&MET team within the Danieli Automation division and are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) system implementation projects for our customers in the metals industry.
Job Title: Senior Project Manager, Digital Solutions

Role Purpose:
The Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of MOM implementation projects, with primary responsibility for customer relationship management, project governance, planning, coordination, commercial control and overall project performance. Technical leadership is provided by a dedicated Technical Project Leader, who owns the technical solution and coordinates the technical team. The Project Manager and Technical Project Leader work as a close leadership pair throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary managerial point of contact for the customer throughout the project lifecycle, building a transparent and trusted working relationship.
- Own overall project delivery against agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality objectives and contractual commitments.
- Establish the project governance model, communication plan, meeting cadence, reporting structure and escalation paths.
- Prepare, maintain and communicate the integrated project plan, key milestones, dependencies and resource needs in coordination with the Technical Project Leader and functional managers.
- Lead project kick-off meetings, progress reviews, steering committees and customer-facing project status meetings.
- Monitor project progress, costs, forecasts, risks, issues, actions, changes and contractual deliverables, ensuring timely corrective actions and escalation where required.
- Manage scope changes and variations, including impact assessment, customer alignment, internal approvals and formal change control.
- Support customer acceptance, site activities, go-live, stabilization and project closure, ensuring that open points and contractual obligations are properly managed.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, decisions, meeting minutes, progress reports and lessons learned.
- Promote customer satisfaction while protecting Danieli Automation’s contractual and business interests.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management methods, templates and delivery practices for MOM projects.
Required:
- Proven experience managing complex software, industrial digitalization, system integration, MOM/MES implementation projects.
- Good understanding of project management principles, including planning, cost control, risk management, change control, reporting and stakeholder management.
- Experience managing customer-facing projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to understand technical and functional topics sufficiently to support decisions, identify impacts and communicate effectively, while relying on the Technical Project Leader for detailed technical ownership.
- Experience with contracts, project scope, milestones, acceptance criteria and change requests.
- Willingness to travel internationally for customer meetings, project reviews, site activities and key project phases.
Will be considered as a plus:
- Experience with MOM/MES solutions in process industries, especially metals, and relevant integration with ERP systems and other plant applications.
- Experience with international projects, multicultural teams and commissioning or go-live activities at industrial sites.
- Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or an equivalent qualification.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Management or a related technical discipline.
- Available to travel world-wide on business trips (20-30% of the time)
