Our client is a well-established European investment firm with a long track record of backing companies that drive resource efficiency and environmental sustainability. Its sustainable private credit strategy applies that same conviction and sector expertise to the debt markets, providing flexible financing solutions to sustainability-focused businesses across Europe. As the firm prepares to raise its second private credit fund, it is expanding the team and looking for a Director to lead and grow origination in Italy/ Southern Europe. The role can be based in either Milan or London.

Role Profile:

You will be the face of the platform in Italy/ Southern Europe, responsible for sourcing, structuring and executing high-quality investment opportunities. You will:

Originate and develop a strong pipeline of private credit opportunities across Italy and Southern Europe, leveraging and expanding your network of sponsors, advisors, banks, corporates and entrepreneurs
Build and maintain relationships with private equity sponsors, family-owned businesses and intermediaries to position the firm as a preferred financing partner
Lead deal structuring, due diligence, negotiation and execution, working closely with the wider investment team
Collaborate with in-house sector specialists to identify and assess opportunities aligned with the firm's sustainability thesis
Contribute to the strategic development of the platform and support investor engagement ahead of and during the fundraising
Mentor and develop junior team members as the team grows

Candidate Profile:

Significant experience in private credit, direct lending, leveraged finance, mezzanine or a related field at Director level or equivalent
A proven origination track record and a strong, active network in the European mid-market
Deep understanding of credit structuring, documentation and risk assessment
Genuine interest in sustainability and the ability to engage credibly with entrepreneurs and management teams in the sector
Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable building a franchise in a growing platform
Fluent in Italian and English; additional European languages are a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the gravitas to represent the firm externally
