Role Overview

Exyte Italy is looking for an experienced Process Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Agrate Brianza office. In this permanent position you will become part of our Engineering Process Supply Department, supporting a variety of cutting‑edge projects in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering designs for industrial water treatment plants in line with SEMI, ASME and GMP standards, as well as national and local regulations
  • Prepare engineering documentation including layouts, PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, technical specifications, datasheets, equipment lists, material take‑offs and tender documentation
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations and support procurement processes
  • Follow up with vendors during equipment fabrication, delivery and erection phases
  • Manage and resolve supplier NCRs
  • Participate in intra- and interdisciplinary design review meetings
  • Support site activities such as field installation checks, preparation of checklists and punch lists, and documentation for pre‑commissioning and commissioning
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations, company procedures and technical specifications

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of experience in the design and construction of industrial water treatment plants (WWT and UPW)
  • Knowledge of UHP gas and chemical distribution systems, clean utilities and pharma processes is considered a strong plus
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards, GMP requirements, ultrapure water technologies and industrial wastewater treatment processes
  • Strong understanding of process control, P&ID standards, ISA symbology, piping and valve classes for UPW, UHP gases, chemicals and clean utilities
  • Experience in instrumentation & controls, sequences of operation and commissioning/start‑up activities
  • Proficiency with software tools such as MS Office, AutoCAD 2D/3D, Visio, MS Project; process simulation tools (e.g., WAVE) are a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem‑solving mindset, ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally for extended periods
  • Fluent in English; additional languages such as German are advantageous
