ELI - FCS System Engineer

Job Description:

The role is within Flight Control Systems team, which is a part of the Aircraft System Integration area within the Engineering Directorate. The purpose of the role is to carry out System Engineering, RIG & Flight Test Integration activities, Certification within scope of Flight Control System development for Products Italy based.
Areas of responsibility include:
• Flight control system requirements capture, specification, validation and verification
• Preparation of technical specifications and system documentation
• Preparation of system test and reporting
• Conduct system test activities at integration test bench, ground test & flight test on aircraft, including data analysis and troubleshooting,
definition of flight test cards, briefing/debriefing, monitoring in telemetry, flight data analysis and troubleshooting
• Management of safety process for FCS development, including Functional Hazard Assessment, Safety Assessment and Malfunction Flight
test activity
• Management of Certification process, including HW/SW certification document collection preparation and Certification Authority interface

Education & Experience
• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering subject: Electronics, Mechanics, Automatic Control and Aerospace Engineering
• 2+ years Experience in Systems Engineering and/or Flight Control System development

Technical Skills:
• Knowledge and appreciation of the full Systems Engineering life-cycle as per ARP-4754 standard
• Knowledge of Control Theory
• Basic Knowledge of Electronics, Hydraulics, and Mechanics
• Basic Knowledge of Aircraft and Rotorcraft dynamics and Systems
• Basic Knowledge of Model Based Design Methodology
• Familiarity with design, integration and verification of systems
• Knowledge of systems engineering tools and methodologies for requirements management, system modeling, and data
analysis: Matlab, Simulink, UML/SysML, IBM Rational DOORS, Serena Dimension CM

Soft skills
• Ability to communicate equally across multi-functional teams, and with colleagues at all levels
• Proactive approach on project and in dealing with day-to-day tasks
• Analytical and well organized

Other
• Proficient in English language, both oral and written
• Willing to travel
