Valuation Manager

Terna, national transmission grid (NTG) operator, is actively engaged in the process of ecological transition and—as director of the electricity system and enabler of the energy transition —has the task of developing a grid capable of managing the ever-increasing integration of renewables and enabling the progressive decarbonisation of the system while constantly balancing energy produced and consumed.

Terna is seeking a Valuation Manager to join the MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS AND CORPORATE STRATEGY area in its Rome office.

 Main activities:

Fully understanding the businesses underlying each investment/divestment initiative, and the related cost/revenue drivers;  Identifying suitable valuation methodologies and the related control and sensitivity methods; Constructing the valuation model from a technical and industrial perspective, and developing the related economic and financial plan; Participating in the identification of valuation assumptions, by identifying and critically analysing the variables, highlighting their values and preparing the related future projections; Defining the results of the valuation, highlighting risks and opportunities, and making the appropriate recommendations; Supporting the M&A and Corporate Strategy Manager in negotiations aimed at establishing agreements concerning investment/divestment operations; Maintaining dialogue with external financial advisers for activities regarding the valuation of initiatives; Providing the support necessary for discussions with Top Management and the decision-making bodies.

  Necessary requirements:

Master’s degree in Economics, Finance or an equivalent (MBA, CFA plus); At least five years’ experience in structured M&A, Corporate Finance or Project Finance contexts, or equivalent, with significant exposure to economic/financial analysis and valuation activities; In-depth knowledge of the main financial valuation methodologies and advanced financial modelling skills using IT tools (Excel, VBA, etc.); Knowledge of accounting, tax and budgetary analysis matters; Analytical skills and the ability to accurately and concisely communicate the results; Willingness to work on multiple assignments, in a timely manner, with deadlines which may not be flexible; A sense of ethics, strong orientation towards results and problem-solving, curiosity and vision, interpersonal and team-working skills. Fluent English.
