Marine Propulsion System (MPS) - Mechanical Design Engineer

Cavotec Monza e Brianza, Lombardia, Italia (Ibrido) The ideal candidate would have: Design systems and components for use in the collector (rotating electrical connections) product line with a focus on cost and manufacturability Support the service team in specifying spare parts for new and legacy solutions Support the commercial team during customer meetings to provide technical expertise on the product

Main Tasks and Key Responsibilities:

Design full assemblies for collector solutions based on incoming technical requirements Design new components as needed for new collector systems as well as for legacy systems with obsolete components Create 3D models using SolidWorks and driven by configuration tables Create 2D drawings for use in manufacturing and assembly of components and systems Compile component and system level bills of materials for use by procurement, provide support for complex components when choosing suppliers Support the documentation team in authoring technical documentation such as manuals and technical service bulletins Store and control created documentation with the EPDM document management system Assist the operations team during assembly and testing if issues arise Attend customer meetings as necessary to aid the commercial team in specifying products

Hard skills:

Proficient in mechanical design using CAD tools, specifically SolidWorks Ability to use AutoCAD for legacy drawing support Selection of materials required to meet technical requirements Weld and fastener selection to meet required specifications Selection of motors, sensors, bearings and other supporting componentry for use in systems

Soft Skills:

Technically sound Process oriented Goal oriented Strong communication skills Works well in an team environment

Qualifications:

Technical Mechanical Education General computer skills (MS Office, Acrobat) Strong command of English (conversational) At least 4-5 years experience in similar applications
