Accounting Officer

On behalf of our client, a specialist currency solutions company, GRS are currently seeking to recruit an Accounting Officer for their team in Nicosia. The successful candidate will be an energetic accounting professional, fluent in Greek and English languages. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Processes payments and documents such as invoices, journal vouchers, employee reimbursements and statements Posts, updates, and/or retrieves accounting data from automated systems Posts financial data to appropriate accounts in an accounting system Performs end-of-day procedure Keeps VAT records and prepares quarterly VAT report Prepares bank reconciliations on a timely manner Preparation of required monthly, quarterly semi-annual and annual reporting to the regulators File and archive documents connected to the accounting function Liaise with external auditors and other external advisors Prepare and update expense schedule and review against the budget of the Company Performs related work as assigned CANDIDATE PROFILE Holder of a degree in accounting or any other related subject 1-3 years of experience in similar position Strong communication skills Excellent organization skills, time management skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Experience in working with Payment Institutions, EMIs or Investment firms is a plus Experience with Sage will be considered an advantage Be fluent in Greek and English languages COMPANY BENEFITS Medical Scheme Provident Fund Flexible Working Hours Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm (8 hours plus 30min-1hr lunch break) Due to the high volume of applications, we receive at GRS Recruitment, only shortlisted candidates will be responded to.
