Laboratory Research Scientist

We seek for our Institute: Post-doctoral Research Scientist | Buffa's laboratory The Buffa Lab is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to work on a project entitled "Single-cell AI-reconstructed gene network rewiring in hypoxia to dissect mechanisms of cancer progression and metastasis (REWIRE)". The laboratory uses systems biology approaches to understand how cancer evolves and responds to treatment, and how the tumor microenvironment affects this process. This project aims to take this further and understand the reprogramming of the cells exposed to early and chronic hypoxia in multiple experimental models, with a particular focus on CRISPR and single cell sequencing. The project will involve perturbation experiments in cell lines, organoids and single cell next generation sequencing approaches. Additionally, they should be capable of fostering collaboration and constructive contributions within IFOM's scientific environment. Ability to take the lead and manage small research projects when required; Attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate and ordered experimental data; Language skills Proficiency in English for speaking and writing. English is the working language at the Institute.
