We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Product Lighting Designer to join our team. As a Technical Product Lighting Designer, you will play a crucial role in the development and production of lighting products, ensuring they meet technical standards, design specifications, and quality requirements.

Since 2019, the Swiss startup has specialised in tailored, aesthetic acoustic solutions and counts renowned companies from all over the world as clients. Offering a range of premium products, the company is redesigning the future of acoustic absorbers. IMPACT ACOUSTIC is a pioneer in sustainability, using recycled materials and advocating for a global ban on PET bottles. Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Utilize your technical expertise to design, develop, and optimize lighting products, ensuring they meet performance, durability, and safety standards.
  • Assembly and Component Drawings: Create detailed assembly and component drawings to guide manufacturing processes and ensure accurate production.
  • Electrical Testing: Conduct thorough electrical testing of lighting products to verify performance, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Process Organization: Take charge of organizing the product development process, coordinating activities between design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
  • Prototyping: Lead the prototyping process, translating design concepts into tangible prototypes for evaluation, testing, and refinement.
  • Cost Sheets and Bill of Materials (BOM): Prepare comprehensive cost sheets and bill of materials (BOM) to estimate project costs accurately and facilitate procurement and manufacturing processes.
  • Machinery Knowledge: Possess a strong understanding of industrial machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing process, ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with external suppliers and vendors to source materials, components, and services essential for product development and manufacturing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in technical product design, particularly in the lighting industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for creating detailed drawings and models (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion360°, Rhinoceros, Dialux, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator/InDesign).
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles and electrical testing procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience with prototyping techniques and materials.
  • Familiarity with cost estimation processes and bill of materials (BOM) management.
  • Knowledge of industrial machinery and manufacturing processes.
