Our team based in Italy is growing and we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join us.
Due to recent new wins, and with further exciting opportunities in the pipeline, we are looking for a mechanical engineer with experience in combined cycles who can take the lead of our detail design thermal process engineering team as well as lead owner engineering services.
You will also work closely with our existing team members, clients, and sub-contractors to continue to build on this success and be a key part of Mott MacDonald’s growth in Italy.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Work on project delivery and support for proposals relevant to combined cycle projects, simple cycle gas turbines plants, hydrogen, CCUS, and energy transition projects.
Lead the process engineering team to deliver detail design services.
Work on projects delivering consultancy and Owner Engineering services.
Support proposal preparation.
Collaborate with other offices of MM Group for proposal preparation and project delivery.
Travel abroad to meet clients during project delivery and proposals.
Deliver projects in accordance with agreed schedules at various stages including feasibility/planning/preparation of tender stage technical drawings and specifications/production of construction drawings and design compliance monitoring at construction stage for Power Plant applications.
Coordinate with client project team and internal team disciplines within Mott MacDonald including civil, mechanical, environmental.
Enhance our business development and deliver projects in new technologies including hydrogen, CCUS, and thermal transition in general.
Your qualifications should include:
Mechanical Engineer, with an MS degree in mechanical engineering with adequate experience in thermal power plants design and project implementation, preferably covering from proposal stage to implementation (engineering, procurement, construction) phase, performance testing.
Experience in international projects and in international environments.
Competence/knowledge in gas turbines, steam turbines, steam and water cycle, BoP systems for power plants. Experience in team leading.
Good understanding of the basic and detail design of thermal power plants, combined cycles, open cycle gas turbines, CHP, etc.
Excellent oral and communication skills and proficiency in the English language.

We offer some fantastic benefits including:
Mott MacDonald Group operates an incentive scheme for employees on standard terms and conditions with a minimum six-month service at the end of the previous financial year. The scheme is non-contractual and targeted at exceptional contributors but includes a fixed element in which all eligible staff (grades A-E) share.
The scheme includes General Bonus, Performance Bonus, and Annual Salary Review.
Bonus Payments are normally made in March each year.
The performance-related bonus is around 3.5% salary for employees demonstrating excellent performance though not only a certain number of employees get this every year.
We conduct an annual salary review based on market changes.
Medical insurance: Cadiprof (Unisalute plus Ebipro) covers medical expenses for the employee and sport/education expenses for family members. In addition, MM Italy has a Company Welfare Plan that allows the use of bonuses to cover family expenses (medical, sport, education, travels, etc.).
Please note that the number of holidays per year and other terms and conditions may vary according to the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for employees of Professional Firms (NCBA).
