SMS group S.p.A., based in Italy, has over 500 employees across Tarcento (Udine), San Donato Milanese (Milan), and Genoa. They specialize in creating innovative and complete plants, including hot and cold rolling mills, process lines, reheating furnaces, heat treatment lines, long product rolling mills, meltshops, and continuous casting machines.

YOU ACT

The Area Site Manager Mechanical is in charge of ensuring the proper execution of Mechanical Parts and Equipment Erection, following the Contractual Time Schedule, Design, and Technical Requirements. The goal is to meet the milestones set in the contract during the erection phase and coordinate Sub-Contractors.

Tasks

  • Supervise the installation of Mechanical parts and equipment
  • Verify correct alignment and movements of the equipment
  • Ensure the Erection Company adheres to the Time Schedule, Design, and Technical Requirement
  • Monitor the Planning of resources of the Erection Company
  • Collaborate with engineering departments to resolve any arising issues
  • Review and Sign Erection Completion documents
  • Manage Vendors and Contractors
  • Attend meetings with the Customer to update on the work progress
  • Handle relationships with the Client and, if necessary, local authorities
  • Coordinate with Head Quarter and Sub-Contractors
  • Prepare daily reports on the supervision-related activities status
  • Provide technical assistance during trial and commissioning phases

YOU KNOW

  • Lead to coordinate, manage, and control Mechanical / Piping Erection Activities in an Industrial Plant
  • Minimum 3/5 years of experience in constructing steel processing plants
  • Familiarity with Site erection and commissioning activities management, particularly for steel plants
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Teamwork ability, flexibility, and willingness to travel globally
  • Strong organizational skills, sense of responsibility, and capability to work under pressure
  • Openness to new approaches and innovations
