Working as GIS Specialist in OX2:
The Country GIS Specialist enables the Development Team to meet their business goals in wind, PV and BESS projects.

The main task is to manage project geodata by collecting data, handling data deliveries, performing quality assurance and any processing or analysis needed.

Geodata is made accessible to project members and other stakeholders through ArcGIS Portal webmaps, data packages and static maps.


Additionally, the Country GIS Specialist is responsible for building up national structure and processes and collecting and maintaining non-project nation specific datasets.


The Country GIS Specialist is an operative and supportive role and is required to have sufficient technical competence, knowledge of OX2 project structure and the national process framework, and the local sources of information and data availability.

Preferred location in Milano, Italy.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the entire package of geographical information of photovoltaic, wind and BESS projects in pipeline, including:
  • Collecting, procuring, creating, searching out, storing and maintaining project-specific geodata, in accordance with OX2 process framework.
  • Maintenance of webmaps that serves as a central platform for the project team, data delivery and production of static maps.
  • Processing of geodata and performing of GIS analysis.
  • Responsible for the National GIS coordination, including:
  • Collecting, procuring, creating and searching out nation specific geodata.
  • Storing and maintaining nation specific geodata in accordance with current process framework.
  • Daily monitoring of the renewable market and updating of the internal Intel database.
  • Developing GIS tools and services for nationspecific needs.
  • Responsible for GIS activities in Screening and Due Diligence, including:
  • Ongoing search for and analysis of new possible areas for PV, Wind or BESS project development (Screening).
  • Collecting, procuring, creating, and searching out screening and due diligence geodata.
  • Compiling of datasets for permit, engineering and production calculation.
  • Manage deliveries and quality assurance of project geodata.
  • Sharing experience and best practice to GIS colleagues and reporting national needs to global GIS level.
  • Participate in developing the utilization of GIS tools.
  • Keep up to date with current development in the GIS field.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • Technical university or vocational education in geoinformatics, land surveying, geography or similar field.
  • Previous work experience in GIS Specialist roles in energy, infrastructure, development projects or similar industry.
  • Data processing, analysis and visualization using desktop

GIS:
ArcGIS Pro, preferably also QGIS, FME.

  • Data management and publishing map services using web

GIS:
ArcGIS Portal.

  • Preferably geodata process automation: ETL workflows, scripting, webapp development.
  • Geographical reference systems: projection errors and transformations, experience with relevant global and local reference systems (planar and elevation).
  • Common GIS data formats and file conversion, preferably also database management.
  • Coordination of project geodata: structuring receiving/delivery, quality assurance, versioning, storage.
  • Collection and procurement of nation specific datasets and knowledge of data providing authorities and organisations.
  • Communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Structured working methodology and aptitude for data management.
  • Strong analytical skills, flexible mindset and problemsolving mindset.
  • Ability to implement GIS and provide access to geodata to support nonGIS Specialists.
  • Ability to explain and promote GIS workflows to nonGIS Specialists.
  • Professional fluency in Italian and in English
