Job Description:

In line with our company strategy to foster innovation, growth, and productivity through digital and data capabilities, our commercial division has established the commercial Digital, Data, and Analytics (DDA) organization. This central unit is dedicated to leveraging digital, data, and analytics capabilities throughout the end-to-end commercialization process to drive data-informed decision-making for the benefit of our patients and customers.

As DDA evolves to bring top-tier capabilities to the commercial organization in Core Europe Region (CER), we are looking for a dynamic individual to take on the role of Head of Data & Analytics in Italy. This person will play a key role in expanding data and analytics initiatives in our commercial portfolio for Italy. The ideal candidate will be involved in managing data science, data visualization, digital analytics, and Data analytics & AI strategy in the Italian market, as well as overseeing local vendor relationships.

In this position, the candidate will have the chance to utilize data to generate actionable insights that enhance customer comprehension, aiding in achieving brand growth objectives and boosting customer engagement in CER. They will play a crucial role in developing practical commercial use cases based on data-driven decisions, leveraging insights organization-wide to deliver more customer-centric solutions.

The role, based in Italy, will report to the Head of Data & Analytics, CER. The preferred candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset, a solid grasp of healthcare and technology, a proven track record of leading teams to extract insights from analytics, and strong leadership qualities.

This role demands effective communication and collaboration skills as it requires interaction with various teams in Italy and other markets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Center of Excellence for data and analytics to support Italian business operations
  • Collaborate with business leaders to raise awareness of data and analytics capabilities and the DDA operating model in the Italian market
  • Act as a strategic partner for Italian and CER business leaders to influence commercial decisions with data-driven insights
  • Build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders in Italy, HHDDA, marketing, medical, finance, and IT
  • Develop data-driven solutions in alignment with business objectives by understanding stakeholders' priorities
  • Choose appropriate analytical techniques/methodologies and solutions based on pharmaceutical data landscape knowledge
  • Implement feedback loops to ensure services align with business needs and maintain high-quality standards
  • Support local management teams in data science, data visualization, digital analytics, and data analytics & AI strategy
  • Effectively communicate with various teams including those in customer engagement, data strategy, population health, and marketing operations
  • Ensure timely delivery of analyses with high quality, compliance, and user experience
  • Manage local relationships with vendor partners
  • Facilitate discussions, resolve conflicts, and lead by example while embodying the company's Ways of Working

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in health care landscape, commercial analytics, data-driven analytics, and advanced analytics
  • Familiarity with the health care landscape in Italy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and Italian
  • Organizational skills to navigate complex environments
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to collaborate effectively
  • Ability to work in unstructured environments and provide clarity
  • Experience leading diverse work groups and managing ambiguity
  • Compliance-oriented mindset and energetic leadership
  • Preferably MBA with an undergraduate degree in analytics or related field
  • Professional experience in applied data science, analytics, data visualization, and storytelling

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Knowledge of healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
  • Diverse background in various roles or industries
  • Experience in advanced analytics for omnichannel engagement models
  • Hands-on experience with database management and business intelligence tools
