Summary / Role Objective The Account representative is the principal liaison between Ansys and clients in a designated territory, group of named accounts, or product/service line. The Account Representative is tasked with maintaining existing customer accounts while also striving to acquire new ones. A successful Account Representative enhances sales profitability, expansion, and account penetration. Main Responsibilities
  • Conducts sales activities, establishes, nurtures, and sustains business relationships with current and/or potential customers to retain existing business and secure new business in an allocated geographic area, set of named accounts, or product/service line to meet or surpass revenue goals.
  • Promotes products/services via phone and in-person interactions.
  • Identifies customer pain points, negative implications, and desired positive business outcomes to pinpoint the optimal solution. Articulates the value of the company's products/services clearly with metrics and evidence while aligning with the customer's needs and distinguishing from competitors.
  • Develops and maintains account plans for current clients, emphasizing profile, market share, and value prospects.
  • Researches sources to identify potential new customers or expansion opportunities within existing customers and to gather intelligence for assessing their potential.
  • Drafts concise and compelling written proposals/quotations for current and potential customers.
  • Coordinates sales initiatives with marketing, account team, sales management, accounting, legal, and technical services teams.
  • Provides precise forecasts for new sales and renewal revenues.
  • Participates in trade shows and conferences; arranges training sessions and seminars to enrich new business prospects.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
  • Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree in technical, engineering, business, or related field with 1+ years of proven success in technical sales roles OR 5+ years of demonstrated success in technical sales roles.
  • Demonstrated comprehension of engineering analysis and technology.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills and the capacity to work autonomously.
  • Travel: up to 50%
  • Proficient in English and Italian
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven familiarity with the company's products/services and pricing strategies.
  • Familiarity with the specific territory, product line, or customer(s)
