Under the supervision of the Emergency Specialist and in regular consultation with the Child Protection Specialist, GBV Specialist and Country Coordinator, support the implementation of ECARO O/P emergency preparedness and response plan in the region/s of competence. Specifically, provide technical support at field level in the region/s of competence to definition, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the emergency interventions to ensure protection of children, refugee and migrant children and their families, women and girls.

A Consultant based in Trieste, to monitor and coordinate activities in Friuli Venezia Giulia regionA Consultant based in Catania, to monitor and coordinate activities in Sicily – including LampedusaA Consultant based in Reggio Calabria, to monitor and coordinate activities in Apulia and CalabriaScope of the work:
The consultants will:
Provide technical support to assess the needs of refugees and migrants and to the implementation of UNICEF's response through implementing partnersMonitor the situation and provide operational updatesFacilitate communication and coordination amongst local stakeholdersProvide evidence to support advocacy actionsContribute to emergency and donor reporting and data collection and analysisProvide logistical support to missionsTo qualify as an advocate for every child you will have...
Master requirement can be substituted with a Bachelor degree and additional 2 years of relevant professional work experienceMinimum 5 years of relevant professional work experience at the national and/or international levels in programme/project development, planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation, reporting;Fluent in written and oral English and ItalianValid working permit in Italy, if non-EU nationalityAvailability to travel in ItalyDriving licence type B for ItalyAssets:
Experience in emergency programmes implementation will be highly consideredFluency in French will be highly considered, knowledge of other languages will be taken into considerationPrevious experience in UNICEF, UN or other IO will be highly considered
