As General Manager, Italy, you will lead ground operations, drive strategic plans, and oversee Intrepid Travel's day-to-day operations within Italy. With a focus on growth, you will strengthen our market presence and position Intrepid as a leader in adventure travel across the region. Reporting to the General Manager, West Europe, you will collaborate with global and EMEA leaders to drive business development, enhance sales growth, and deliver exceptional travel experiences. Building and nurturing a high-performing team, while fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence, will be key to your success.

This is a full-time, permanent role operating in a hybrid capacity out of Rome, and we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. This is your chance to shape the future of adventure travel in Italy and beyond

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:

  1. Strong experience in managing Ground Operations in Italy and a deep understanding of DMC core functions.
  2. Proven leadership skills with a minimum of middle management experience; company management experience preferred.
  3. High level of financial literacy and a track record of commercial and strategic decision-making.
  4. In-depth knowledge of risk and incident management.
  5. Native Italian speaker with excellent written and spoken English, and the ability to legally work in Italy. Other European languages are a plus.
  6. Experience in tourism or customer-focused industries, including operations and sales.
  7. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, develop teams, and drive performance.
