Senior Mechanical Engineer

Great opportunity to work as a Senior Mechanical Engineer (client side) based in Milan, on a major development project.
All candidates must have the right to work in the EU unsponsored; no uplifts or living expenses will be provided. All candidates must be willing to work out with "employed status" and should be self-employed/freelance.
The role:
- Ability to review design and develop mechanical systems and components based on project specifications and requirements.
- Prepare detailed drawings and specifications.
- Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics simulations to validate designs and ensure performance under operating conditions.
- Utilize software tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL for simulation and analysis.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ASME, ASTM).
- Perform inspections and testing of mechanical systems to verify performance and quality.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers. Identify and resolve technical issues, proposing innovative solutions.
- Ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulations.
Requirements:
- BSc or higher in the oil & gas sector (not less than 10 years' experience).
- Experience in oil & gas engineering projects (non-graduate engineer/20 years' experience in oil & gas production).
- Proficiency in English.
- Computer skills: Engineering Design Software (e.g., AutoCAD), SAP2000, ANSYS or similar, Microsoft Office, and process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to model and evaluate process performance.
- Organizational skills: Time management, task management, planning, attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication.
- PMP or similar, Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE), ASME Certifications, Safety Certifications, and Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
