We were meant to fly.Role OverviewThe Senior Combustion Aero Design Lead is responsible for leading design, development and validation of gas turbine combustion systems, including the development of rig and engine test campaigns, their planning and monitoring, as well as their data reduction and documentation. In this role you will learn processes that meet business needs across the organization, participate in solving complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.Essential ResponsibilitiesDetailed Aerodynamic analysis, design, and test functions required to define components, assemblies, and systems that meet program and product requirementsUse and development of engineering tools to perform aerodynamic evaluationsSuccessful planning, design and execution of test programsCompliant communications of aero technical dataBasic technical implications of business CTQ’sLean / Six SigmaQualifications/RequirementsMaster’s degree (preferred) in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university with a focus on combustion aerodynamicsStrong experience as design engineer in aerodynamicsSubstantial NPI/NTI experience in combustion aerodynamics design and validationFluent English and Italian knowledgeWork Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is requiredDesired CharacteristicsTechnical aptitude in combustion science, experimental testing and large data processingClear thinker and effective problem solverIndependence / work without direct supervisionEffective program management and executionFlexible & friendly approach to working in global teamsSmart working and work life-balanceAvio Aero, when possible, promotes smart work in hybrid mode, and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work‑life balance.
