The Purchasing Manager will play a crucial role in sourcing, procuring, and managing the inventory of goods and services essential to maintaining the luxury standards of our Orient Express hotel “La Minerva” in Rome.The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in procurement, vendor management, and negotiation within the luxury hospitality industry.Key Responsibilities:• Developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the company’s luxury standards and budgetary requirements,• Identifying and establishing relationships and partnership with high-quality suppliers, vendors, and distributors capable of providing premium goods and services,• Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining exceptional quality,• Monitoring market trends, pricing fluctuations, and industry developments to stay informed of changes that may impact purchasing decisions,• Collaborating constantly with department heads to understand and pre-empt their procurement needs and requirements, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services,• Managing the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations,• Maintaining accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor agreements, utilizing procurement software and tools as necessary,• Implementing inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize waste and reduce costs,• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to purchasing and procurement activities,• Evaluating supplier performance and conducting regular vendor assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards and service level agreements.Qualifications• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or Hospitality Management is a plus,• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management within the luxury hospitality industry,• Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CSCP and CPSM) is a plus,• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully securing favourable terms and pricing from suppliers,• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills,• English and Italian confidence are mandatory,• Proficiency in procurement software, Microsoft Office Suite, and inventory management systems,• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities,• Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices in procurement and purchasing,• Legal right to work in Italy is mandatory.
