Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Software Detailed Design and Unit Construction Engineer with at least 6 years of experience to join our team. This role focuses on developing C and/or C code for embedded systems. It also focuses on detailed software designs defining software unit interfaces and ensuring comprehensive traceability between various design stages and requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering using C and/or C with a focus on detailed design and unitlevel development within complex embedded systems.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

1) Develop software detailed designs.

2) Define interfaces of software units.

3) Generate bidirectional traceability reports across software requirements architecture design detailed design and software units.

4) Perform relevant tasks in PTC Modeler/Rhapsody

5) Develop C and/or C software for an embedded system

6) Perform reviews

Details of Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Software Detailed Design:

  • Create comprehensive software detailed designs based on the software architecture and requirements.

  • Ensure that the detailed design includes all necessary components logic and algorithms required for software unit construction.

  • Collaborate with software architects and system engineers to ensure alignment between detailed design and overall system objectives.

  1. Define Interfaces of Software Units and implement corresponding software:

  • Clearly define and document the interfaces for each software unit ensuring seamless interaction between units and other system components.

  • Ensure that software unit interfaces are consistent with the software architecture and detailed design.

  • Address and resolve any interfacerelated issues or conflicts that arise during the design and development process.

  • Develop embedded C and/or C software for the embedded system.

  1. Generate Bidirectional Traceability Reports:

  • Establish and maintain bidirectional traceability between software requirements and software units.

  • Generate traceability reports between software architectural design and detailed design ensuring alignment and coverage across all design levels.

  • Document and track the relationships between software detailed design and software units ensuring that all design aspects are accounted for and traceable.

  1. Task and Defect Management:

  • Utilize PTC Modeler IBM Rhapsody or similar tools to manage tasks and defects related to software detailed design and unit construction.

  • Update and close relevant tasks and defects as the software detailed design is developed validated and finalized.

  • Ensure that all changes to the software detailed design and unit construction are accurately documented communicated and reflected in the project management tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or masters degree in software engineering Systems Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • At least 6 years of experience in software detailed design and unit construction with a focus on software development complex embedded systems.

  • Proficiency in software design and modeling tools such as PTC Modeler IBM Rhapsody or similar.

  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles including detailed design methodologies interface definition and unitlevel development.

  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to develop and optimize detailed software designs.

  • Strong communication collaboration and proactive leadership skills with experience working in crossfunctional teams.

  • Experience in generating traceability reports and conducting formal reviews of software detailed design and unit construction.

  • Strong understanding of the software VCycle and the Automotive SPICE 3.0 process reference model.

  • Strong knowledge and experience developing embedded C and/or C software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automotive industry

  • Experience with automotive HVAC controllers
