The journal will showcase advancements in sensor technologies, methodologies, and their applications across environmental monitoring, biomedical diagnostics, wearable and implantable devices, and smart sensing systems for the Internet of Things. Nature Sensors will connect researchers, industry experts, innovators, policymakers, and the public, publishing thought pieces exploring the impact of sensor ubiquity, datafication of society, and related challenges. The journal will emphasize real-world, societal applications, publishing original research, reviews, commentary, and opinion pieces. The launch aims to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration across scientific communities to develop and apply sensor technologies for societal benefit.Role ResponsibilitiesDetermine representation of the fields they handle for the journal; work closely within a small team of editors on all aspects of the editorial process, including manuscript selection, management of the peer review process, commissioning and editing of reviews and comments, and writing for the journal.Engage with topical issues for the sensing community as essential.Maintain broad scientific knowledge and training; demonstrate excellent literary skills and a keen interest in science communication.Be an enthusiastic communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, liaising with researchers through conferences, lab visits, and other engagements, virtually and in person.QualificationsPhD (or equivalent); preferably postdoctoral experience; ability to demonstrate broad interest in sensing beyond own area.Editorial experience is beneficial but not required; candidates with substantial editorial experience will be considered for Senior Editor.Expertise in areas including but not limited to: quantum, optical, photonic, or acoustic sensors; wireless communication; telecommunications; sensor networks; MEMS/NEMS.
