American Express Italia is looking for a Senior Credit Risk Manager to lead credit risk strategies for our Consumer and Small Business portfolios. Your mission is to manage the portfolio performance in line with the risk appetite and the financial plan, whilst supporting the profitable growth of the organization. How will you make an impact in this role? Compliance Management: Lead the team to achieve full compliance with the credit card regulatory environment, applicable policy and regulations. Credit Risk Framework: Develop best‑in‑class credit risk strategies and apply expert understanding of Credit Risk Frameworks and profitability optimisation. Credit Risk Management: Define forward‑looking credit risk insights and reporting that support senior leaders in making strategic decisions. Horizon Scanning and Innovation: Maintain deep knowledge of the market and be at the forefront of credit‑risk innovation. Computer Skills: Use credit risk software packages independently; SQL and Python expertise are necessary. Minimum Qualifications Proficient in English and Italian. Bachelor's Degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, engineering or physics. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Credit Risk, Modelling, Consulting, Data and Analytics in a bank or financial service. Extensive experience with third‑party data providers (bureau and others). Extensive experience in setting up, monitoring and enhancing credit‑risk acquisition strategies and systems. Strong skills in SQL and Python (SAS programming language a plus). Strong understanding of Credit Risk Modelling (preferred if Machine Learning). Employment eligibility to work with American Express in Italy is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
