IT Support Technician

BMZ USA, Inc. develops and produces high‑tech lithium‑ion battery systems and is looking for an IT Support Technician to join our team.BMZ USA is one of the four development and manufacturing sites of BMZ that employs almost 2,000 people worldwide.We offer a friendly, safe working environment and a place to grow. We are looking for a professional with experience and the mindset to not only execute daily tasks but also take on new challenges as we continue our path to become the largest supplier of customized Li‑ion battery pack solutions.POSITION SUMMARYThe IT Support Technician will be responsible for day‑to‑day management and maintenance of IT equipment and systems within a manufacturing environment, along with serving as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance within an office environment. The role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of our IT systems, hardware, and software. The IT Support Technician will collaborate closely with BMZ Group’s IT department, located in BMZ’s headquarters in Germany.JOB FUNCTIONSProvide first‑level contact and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software, and application issues.Perform installations, configurations, and upgrades of desktop hardware and software.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to desktop systems, printers, and network connectivity.Maintain and update documentation of hardware and software configurations.Assist with the setup and deployment of new equipment and systems.Collaborate with 2nd and 3rd level IT team members to ensure efficient operation of the company’s IT infrastructure.Provide training and guidance to users on best practices and usage of IT resources.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to IT security and usage.Participation in internal IT projects (also globally).Development and maintenance of IT system documentation.Additional duties as assigned by the local General Manager or BMZ’s Group CIO.MINIMUM ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEAssociate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician or in a similar role.
