Job Summary With balconies full of geraniums and subtropical gardens that border an exclusive Sicilian beach – Villa Sant'Andrea, a Belmond Hotel feels like a private home nestled in Taormina Mare. The acclaimed restaurant serves freshly caught fish and decadent desserts enhanced by stunning sea views. Guests can relax in the heated infinity pool, wellness centre and stylish beach cabanas. For the next season we are looking for a Chef de Cuisine to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and comfortable with challenges, possessing exceptional taste and exemplary customer service skills. The primary objective is to provide a friendly, attentive, and timely service and to create an exceptional experience for all our guests. He/she reports to the Executive Chef. Main Duties Assist section chefs (Chef de Partie) in the preparation of ingredients and dishes. Maintain cleanliness and order of the workstation and kitchen. Handle and store food according to HACCP guidelines. Collaborate actively with the team to ensure efficient and high‑quality service. Requirements Effective communication: communicate clearly and appropriately, both verbally and non‑verbally. Emotional intelligence: demonstrate sensitivity to the needs and emotions of guests and colleagues, adjust style accordingly, and manage own emotions in challenging situations. Adaptability: identify when a different approach is needed and offer solutions, embracing new ways of doing things. Collaboration: be willing to work as a team player. Basic knowledge of cooking styles, equipment, and raw material processing techniques. At least 1 year of previous professional experience in a similar role in a luxury environment, including school internships. Passion for service and ambition to grow professionally.
