We’re seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Manager to lead the S3 Capacity Management organization. This role is critical in ensuring Amazon S3’s infrastructure scales efficiently to meet global customer demand. You’ll lead teams responsible for developing and maintaining systems that forecast, order, fulfill, and provision capacity for one of the world’s largest storage services. Additionally, you will partner with AWS Infrastructure Services to optimize our supply chain planning and manufacturing processes to support S3’s unique use cases. Key job responsibilities Lead multiple software development teams focused on capacity management systems and automation Drive the technical vision for S3’s capacity forecasting, procurement, and provisioning systems Collaborate with hardware engineering, supply chain, and data center teams to optimize capacity deployment Develop and maintain sophisticated forecasting models to predict S3’s global capacity needs Own critical capacity management metrics and create data‑driven strategies for infrastructure growth Design and implement systems for automated capacity provisioning and optimization Partner with Finance and Supply Chain teams to optimize infrastructure investments Lead continuous improvement in capacity planning accuracy and efficiency About the team & culture Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. Basic Qualifications 10+ years of engineering experience 5+ years of engineering team management experience 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience Experience partnering with product or program management teams Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment Preferred Qualifications Experience partnering with product and program management teams Experience designing and developing large‑scale, high‑traffic applications Compensation The base pay for this position ranges from $198,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
