IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a Lab Manager to join the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-Tiget) Process Development Lab (PDL) SR-Tiget was created in 1996 as a joint-venture between Fondazione Telethon and Ospedale San Raffaele (OSR), with the mission to perform cutting edge research on gene and cell therapy and to translate its results into therapeutic advances for genetic diseases. The Institute is located within the OSR campus, which includes a large multi-disciplinary research hospital, a biomedical research center, a university and also hosts several biotechnologies companies. Over the years, SR-Tiget has given a pioneering contribution to the gene and cell therapy field with relevant discoveries in vector design, gene transfer and gene editing strategies, stem cell biology, identity and mechanism of action of regulatory cells in immune responses and innate immune cells in cancer. SR-Tiget has also established the resources and framework for translating these advances into novel experimental therapies and has implemented several successful gene therapy clinical trials, which have already treated >120 patients and led to the filing and approval of 2 novel advanced therapy medicines. Within SR-Tiget, PDL is a facility focused on (1) manipulation and genetic modification of hematopoietic stem cells and T lymphocytes (process optimization and scale-up; development of analytical methods to evaluate cell quality in terms of identity, purity, potency and safety) and (2) manufacturing of lentiviral vectors at a pre-GMP level (upstream and downstream process; analytical methods to evaluate vector quality). **Main activities**: Lab organization supervision General lab and safety training to new employees and external collaborators Supply chain management (contacts with suppliers, quotation requests, orders) Coordination of instrument demos, installation and maintenance Shipment of biological materials Support for document preparation and management (IACUC, GMO notifications, lab procedures) Support for budget preparation and management Interaction with other areas within SR-Tiget (in particular “Research Operations” and “Administration, Organization and Control”), Ospedale San Raffaele and Fondazione Telethon **Who we are looking for**: Bachelor or Master Degree in Life Sciences Previous lab experience Documentation management skills Good oral and written English Excellent managerial skills, reliability, precision Ability to work autonomously and to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Friendly, collaborative, pro-active mindset **Work details**: **Place of work**: SR-TIGET, via Olgettina 58, Milan - Italy
