AWS’s Infrastructure Supply Chain (AIS‑SC) organization works to deliver industry‑leading solutions to source, build and maintain our socially responsible data center supply chains. AWS Supply Chain is seeking a highly effective candidate to design and implement innovative solutions that deliver the best operating and lowest cost infrastructure in the world. This individual will own the relationship with AWS’s most strategic partners, those designing and manufacturing industry‑leading generative AI solutions, compute, storage and networking hardware. As the commercial head of this relationship, you own cost, performance, contracting and strategy, and you will influence and partner with cross‑functional teams including hardware engineering, supply chain, quality, lifecycle management, operations, compliance and sustainability. Key Job Responsibilities Function as the single‑threaded relationship manager for a strategic supply partner that provides design, development, manufacturing and integration services for AWS servers and server rack integration. Matrix manage all aspects of supplier performance including cost, quality, capacity, delivery, compliance, sustainability and overall supply strategy. Negotiate and execute complex supplier agreements, statements of work and other contracts by working with cross‑functional leads. Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver RFPs, evaluate vendor responses and align on business awards. Deliver AWS’s cost objectives through detailed understanding of all cost drivers and bill of material reviews. Develop and successfully negotiate sourcing strategies that align with business objectives while maintaining a sustainable relationship with suppliers. Inform and influence senior leadership about business status, risk and opportunities via written narratives. Manage vendor escalations and provide executive level updates as required. Prepare and present detailed data‑driven business reviews with senior management, focused on procurement/sourcing execution and continuity of supply. Identify key technology trends in the industry and drive supplier product roadmaps that align with AWS’s technical development and manufacturing initiatives. Basic Qualifications Knowledge of basic supply agreement construction and key contracting provisions/requirements. Bachelor’s or an advanced degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field, or 6+ years related experience. 6+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement of hardware, or 4+ with advanced degree. 3+ years of working with data analysis tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, etc. 5+ years of related supply chain experience in cloud computing, high technology or consumer electronics. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the semiconductor industry, processes, technologies and key suppliers. Knowledge of global supply chain processes and practices. Demonstrated ability to negotiate and execute complex global sourcing contracts. Experience creating, iterating, and improving end‑to‑end global sourcing procurement and supply chain strategies utilizing third‑party manufacturing. Experience with international procurement, trade and incoterms. Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer. MBA or advanced degree in engineering, operations research, logistics, mathematics or other quantitative disciplines. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market.
