The role requires extending existing scientific techniques and inventing new ones to understand how learners learn and how learning evolves. You will envision new ways to solve customer problems, create innovative experiences, and enable organizations to solve business problems through upskilling their workforce.The ideal candidate should possess the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and cross‑functional teams. The position will interact with global functional teams and business and technical organizations.Please visit to learn more.Key Job ResponsibilitiesEngage in strategic discussions with teams to ensure research generates actionable and on‑point findings.Apply your expertise in scientific research and analysis to design, experiment, and conduct scalable research projects that address opportunities in learning and credentialing for international audiences.Identify opportunities to simplify existing research processes and operate more nimbly.Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including engineers, business, product, and others to define requirements, establish success metrics, and deliver high‑quality solutions.Use advanced statistical methodologies to understand relationships between key metrics and other related measures (e.g., regression, structural equation modeling, latent growth curve modeling, Shapley analysis, etc.).Conduct thorough data analysis to gain insights, identify patterns, and drive actionable recommendations that enhance T&C operational performances and customer experiences.Continuously explore and evaluate emerging methodologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of research.Analyze performance of methods and models, iteratively improving them based on quantitative metrics and feedback.Communicate concepts and findings effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, providing clear explanations and guidance on opportunities and their potential impact.Contribute to team’s strategic planning, goals, priorities, and technical roadmaps.Publish research findings in internal reports and external peer‑review when aligned with business needs.Basic QualificationsMaster’s degree or above in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field.4+ years of quantitative field research experience.Experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products.Experience analyzing both experimental and observational data sets.Experience conducting research on a global scale.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of R, MATLAB, Python or similar scripting language.Experience with agile development.Experience in causal modeling like graphical models, causal Bayesian network, potential outcomes, A/B testing, experiments, quasi‑experiments, and data science workflows.Experience in machine learning, statistics, and deep learning.Experience with various machine learning techniques and parameters that affect their performance.Experience programming, prototyping and scripting with Oracle, SQL, Hive, Pig, SAS, R, Weka, or Python.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market.
