The Senior Consultant - Fire provides value-added consulting services to clients and meets the service guidelines stated in the client account servicing instructions, baseline servicing instructions, and fire practice procedures.General RequirementsSurveys - Conduct property loss control surveys to evaluate the property and business interruption exposures at client facilities based on NFPA Standards and others as appropriate.Develop recommendations based on standards to include loss estimates before and after completion of the recommendations.Evaluate automatic fire protection and water supply systems.Report and evaluate building construction, occupancy, special and natural hazards.Develop loss estimates based on scenarios such as the Maximum Foreseeable LossProvides training and peer review for other consultants; serve as a technical resource to other consultantsServices provided to clients include training, manual and program development, code or regulatory interpretation.May prepare and present proposals, develop service instructions, solicit client feedback and prepare stewardship reports.Work assigned is typical of higher technical need as well as being in direct contact with upper client management, including risk managers, financial managers, and other decision-makers.Professional conduct and excellent written/verbal communication skills are required as the position requires direct contact with upper client management, including risk managers, financial managers, and other decision-makersProvide project management services to include special visits, plan reviews, and oral/written presentations to clients.Actively manage your work assigned in the database.Functional RequirementsReview and respond to communication from clients and internal communicationCarry out fieldwork, report writing, consulting, and plan review.Review workloads and revise accordinglyMust be able to: climb ladders; lift/carry up to 50 lbs; stoop, crouch, crawl; traverse catwalks.Educational Qualifications & Experience: Four Year College DegreeMay hold any of the following certifications or be working toward Professional Engineer License (PE), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).10+ years of consulting experienceExperience in servicing major accountsCome to a sound conclusion based on information collected and the applicable standards/guidelines required.Gather and communicate information in a clear and concise report/letter/e-mail.Ability to manage your own workloadRecognized technical expertiseComputer literateAdditional InformationTÜV SÜD Global Risk Consultants (GRC) is the leading unbundled property loss control provider worldwide, offering a complete portfolio of services including Fire Protection Engineering, Boiler & Machinery Engineering, Infrared Thermographic Surveys, Jurisdictional Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspections, Natural Hazards Analysis, Diversified Services, and Loss Control Training.
