Job Description Location: Milano, MI
Condé Nast is an international media company distinguished by a huge global footprint across 32 countries worldwide, with total monthly visitors reaching more than 550 million. Its aim is to inspire, inform, and entertain our audiences through our portfolio of well-known brands such as Vogue, Wired, Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest, GQ, and many more. Condé Nast Technology's mission is to empower our brands for business and creative success by creating the next-generation suite of cutting-edge digital experiences. Technology teams create the products, software, and technologies that make this possible, spanning from a robust multi-brand design system and web framework, to CMS and publishing products, to user accounts and subscription journeys, to robust ad and commerce products. This is a group of designers, product managers, engineers, strategists, and researchers dedicated to building innovative, user-centric products.
The Role Condé Nast Italy is looking for a Product Designer to join the Audio, Video, and Events design team. Based in Milan and working in a cross-country and cultural team, the candidate will craft user-centric audio and video solutions that enhance engagement on our brands' websites, especially during major Condé Nast events (for example, live streams during the annual Vanity Fair Oscar Party and the Met Gala). This person will also craft visual experiences to promote Condé Nast's biggest moments (including the Pitchfork Music Festival and The New Yorker Festival) and enable users to listen to narrated audio. By partnering closely with design leads, researchers, content designers, product managers, and engineers, the candidate will help launch and iterate on features that encourage users to subscribe to our brands, experience compelling live digital experiences, and attend our events. As a Product Designer, they will play a key role in shaping the user experience, user interface, and visual design of the Audio, Video, and Events team's key offerings. This involves working with Condé Nast's robust multi-brand design system in addition to crafting bespoke websites.
Primary Responsibilities: Craft user flows, prototypes, and visually appealing designs for a range of experiences, supporting brand teams in creating captivating digital experiences, covering live events, publishing compelling content, and much more.
Collaborate closely with the product manager, design lead, project leads, and tech leads to transform initial ideas into developed solutions.
Collaborate with UX researchers and UX content designers to gain deep insights into user behaviors and complex user journeys, informing the design process with user-centric perspectives.
Work closely with engineers to implement and design features, ensuring high-quality experiences.
Advocate for ideas and solutions by presenting their impact and value.
Primary Skills & Qualifications: 4+ years of professional experience delivering large-scale web experiences, with a focus on content publishing.
Full professional working proficiency in Italian and English, written and spoken.
Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools.
Experience with current web technology capabilities and limitations.
Experience applying shared design patterns and systems to solve new and intricate user problems pragmatically, showcasing ability to both scale and innovate.
Understanding of Content Management Systems and multi-brand design systems, all driven by product and design principles.
Familiarity with hypothesis-driven design, coupled with qualitative and quantitative testing.
A considered approach to framing and solving challenging problems, emphasizing a keen understanding of a range of design and research tools and methods.
Confidence and enthusiasm as a collaborator and communicator, with an ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
Nice to have: A portfolio of effective UX and UI solutions, user-centric workflows, and visual design decisions, including editorial design, graphic design, and typographic best practices.
Experience with creating and evolving user experiences that can be re-used within a globalized company.
Examples of experience optimization, evolution, and improvement backed up with clear KPIs and ROI.
Knowledge of a range of UI patterns and the reasons for applying one over another.
Knowledge of Photoshop or other similar tools for designing rasterized and vector graphics.
Some coding ability is welcome but not required.
