Job Title: Groups Meetings and Events Manager - Maternity Cover (HOT0B6NU)Work Location: Hilton Lake Como, Via BORGOVICO 241, Lombardia/Como, Como, IT 22100A Groups Meetings and Events Manager is responsible for overseeing the GME team working with the Hotel to achieve pre-established goals, maximizing sales results for Hotel Groups and Events.What will I be doing?Manage the GME Team to actively convert customer enquiries into confirmed sales.Interact frequently with customers and Guests to learn about their needs and develop relationships for repeat and expanded business.Coach selling techniques to the team and ensure proactive efforts to fill capacity and meet set targets.Support the team in planning events to an excellent standard.Develop future and repeat business contributing to the profitability of the hotel.Provide effective leadership to manage and motivate the team to achieve high performance levels.Understand the competitive marketplace and implement strategies to keep the Hotel ahead in the local market.Ensure Team Members are developed effectively, fostering a culture of high-quality standards in customer service and relationship building.Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive business.What are we looking for?Demonstrated previous managerial or supervisory experience in a Reservations and/or Meeting and Events function in the hotel/leisure sector.Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team.Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends.Excellent organizational and planning skills.Accountable and resilient with the ability to work under pressure.Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.Minimum Qualifications:Complete Graduate Degree or MBA in Management, Hospitality, or Marketing.Fluent in English; a second language is desirable.Previous sales and events/banquets experience, preferably in Hotel settings.Ability to analyze and manage multiple tasks effectively.Good written and verbal communication skills.What will it be like to work for Hilton?Hilton is the leading global hospitality company, spanning the lodging sector from luxurious full-service hotels and resorts to extended-stay suites and mid-priced hotels.
