Safety, environment, and wellbeing are our foundation, and we never compromise them.We are now looking aService Engineer Mechanicto join ourMechanicField Services Resources team, in order to improve its after-sales assistance staff and out complex field service activities related to Wartsila's products, including their commissioning, trial tests, adjustments, repair and maintenance.The location for this position isTaranto, Italy.
In this position, when you are not working in the field, remote working is an option too.Your role and responsibilitiesAs a Service Engineer, Mechanicyour work will include the performance ofadvanced troubleshootingon site to isolate and find the root causes of failures in mechanical equipment related to Wartsila's products; theinspection of the work doneto ensure that the repairs have been finalized correctly; the preparation oftechnical and travel reports.
Most of the time you will beoperating in the Field, being in direct relation with the clients.As Service Engineer, Mechanic, your work will focus on these responsibilities:Execute planned maintenances on board and repairing jobs on Wärtsilä OEM engines and its auxiliariesOverhaul engine components at site/on boardCarry out engine product trouble shooting, routine maintenance & components investigation Carry out engine product troubleshooting, routine maintenance & components investigation Prepare service work reports and travel expense reports on time and with expected Wärtsilä qualityWorking by following the Company guidelines including QEHS requirementsRequirements for the positionGood knowledge of English and ItalianAbility to read technical drawingsKnowledge of mechanical principles, especially related to marine enginesStrong motivation to learn and grow professionallyAbility to follow directionsCultural knowledge and bridging the gaps between different culturesAbility to work under pressure.Collaborative team playerMotivation to travel to our customersfor at least 80%per year and abroad if required.As an ideal candidate you might also have…Technical high school diploma in mechanics and/or BS degree in marine engineering or mechanical engineering.Previous experiences in similar rolesSailing while working in vessel's engine-rooms.Why you and us?You are valuated – as your true self.At Wärtsilä we value diversity and are committed in supporting inclusive work community.Your growth is supported.We believe in continuous learning & teamwork.
