Position Title: Retail Team Member Department: Operations Reports To: General Manager Position Purpose and Objectives America's Thrift Stores is currently seeking Retail Team Members We are looking for individuals with excellent customer service abilities, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to assist others. Successful applicants will excel in driving sales by delivering exceptional customer service both at the register and on the sales floor. Responsibilities include maintaining proper display setups, ensuring merchandise presentation is top-notch, and upholding cleanliness standards for operational efficiency. We are specifically seeking outgoing self-starters who are goal-driven and thrive in dynamic environments.
Roles and Responsibilities Warmly greets and engages with customers upon entryPromptly responds to customer inquiries and requestsAssists customers in locating merchandise throughout the storeAttends promptly to cash register calls and operates the register as necessaryApproaches tasks with a strong sense of urgencyAdheres to proper procedures for handling claims merchandiseMaintains a well-organized and visually appealing sales floorPossesses knowledge of products, discounts, and the company's missionStays informed about all aspects of store operationsCompletes any additional duties as assigned by managementSkills and Qualifications High School Degree, GED or equivalent work experiences preferredMust be at least 16 years of ageDisplays excellent sales and customer service skills through interactions both in person and on the phoneAbility to anticipate customers' needs and recommend merchandiseProlonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.Ability to count and handle moneyAbility to operate cash registerMust be able to meet physical demandsOn-the-job training providedPhysical Demands: Occasionally - Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 14-foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling, and smelling.Continuously - walking on tile/concrete, bending, kneeling, and reaching waist/overhead level.Continuously - Sitting, standing on tile/concrete, handling merchandise, talking, seeing, and hearing.Other: Mostly regular hours, working evenings, weekend and holiday hours as needed.Working environment involves inside the store with controlled temperatures and outside conditions with varying weather and temperatures.Other duties as assigned: Please note that this job description may not cover every duty or responsibility that might arise in the course of employment.
