Cumming Management Group, a Cost and Project Management Consultancy within the construction industry, provides a wide range of services to clients spanning several different sectors.

Cumming Management Group are seeking to recruit an Associate Director in Milan. The role will have responsibility for a number of key clients and be expected to develop excellent long-term relationships with those clients whilst ensuring the provision of a quality service. You will report directly to the Senior Director responsible for Italy and have responsibility for coordinating the activities of work within their area of responsibility, focusing on increasing turnover and profitability.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead service delivery with existing key clients, maintaining and strengthening client relationships and using opportunities to cross-sell.
  • Develop our business; networking and developing client relationships.
  • Support the development of a long-term strategy and vision for the success and growth of the Company.
  • Develop expertise across the wide range of disciplines within the area of responsibility.
  • Liaise with other sector leads and offices to create new opportunities.
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives at service and sector level.
  • Support delivering growth in turnover and profits with target clients.
  • Strengthen our service delivery capability and promote knowledge capture, sharing, and innovation.
  • Support establishing a best-in-class service provision and delivery capability.
  • Support the recruiting, developing, and leading a team towards achievement of the long-term strategy.
  • Provide regular updates to the Senior Director on progress within the area of responsibility.
  • Project manage new bids including resource planning and fee proposals for Senior Director approval.
  • Ensure appropriate processes and procedures are in place during the bidding and delivery phases of projects.
  • Ensure project fees and budgets are adhered to, with robust contract and project change control processes.
  • Assist in the resolution of any disputes including the recovery of outstanding fees that are due.
  • Manage the delivery of work through proactive involvement and performance management of personnel.
  • Provide leadership to the staff, resolve conflicts of priorities and personalities.
  • Mentor team members, ensuring that staff and new starters are developed.
  • Ensure communication is clear with staff understanding key priorities and practice goals.
  • Ensure staff have current and relevant training.
  • Forecast team workload and staffing requirements.
  • Approve training plans to ensure succession planning and career development takes place.
  • Ensure service delivery is in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Practice.
  • Manage office and country administrative activities, seeking approval from the Senior Director where necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Ideally degree qualified in construction, cost management, architecture, engineering, or quantity surveying.
  • MRICS / other equivalent recognised qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years in hospitality experience is essential.
  • Experience in Luxury Hospitality is desirable.
  • Strong core technical and commercial skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Italian.
  • Experience of managing people and delivering multiple or complex projects.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters.
  • Good relationships and connections with the Real Estate market.
