- Perform analyses and tests on specimens that require a basic professional understanding of chemistry, product lines,
- Site support activities focus on support QC and formula transfer.
- Quality investigations activities to support ARC analysis.
- Work closely with tech service, sales, marketing, production, analytical, and development teams within the SW organization with a wide variety of coating technologies and platforms.
- Work with different coating, processing, curing and testing equipment
- Complete a variety of forms and documents detailing test findings and basic project results; requires independent judgment within professional guidelines.
- Follow standards of excellence by researching needed information and using the right documents; follows raw material guidelines, ITM’s (Institutional Test Methods) and ICM’s (Institutional Calibration Methods).
- Communicate detailed ideas concisely through written communication, including writing technical reports, tracking reports, data reports, exposure series, project updates, closing reports, complaint investigations, design profiles, marketing updates, product evaluations, project plans, raw material justifications, risk assessments, stage-gate reviews, and by completing tracking sheets, exposure entry forms, notebook reviews, acquisitions, calibration records, MSDS sheets, paint requests, product data sheets (specification forms), purchase forms, shipping documents and meeting minutes.
- Operate, clean, and calibrate a variety of equipment that requires professional judgment and background; also utilizes technical or standard equipment during projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent education and experience.
- Widespread technical experience is required for this level without a degree.
- Demonstrates knowledge of various technologies, instruments, and materials.
- Has broad awareness of division business knowledge (including raw materials market, technology development/trends/brands/products, attributes, and competitors).
- Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction.
