**YOUR TEAM**

You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where Biologists, Biotechnologists, Biomedical and Computational scientists collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.

The **_Neuromodulation of Cortical and Subcortical Circuits_** Research Line is coordinated by **_Raffaella Tonini_**, who has extensive experience in unveiling the synaptic and cellular mechanisms underpinning the activity of different brain areas and how different neuromodulators interact within a specific region to ultimately shape affective and motor behavior.
- Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

- Design and perform experiments to understand cellular mechanism underling anxiety and depression behavior;
- Take responsibility for major deliverables and milestones associated with the projects.

This open position is financed also by the _European Union’s Horizon 2020 _within the _“COMORBIDITY MECHANISMS OF ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION IN PARKINSON'S DISEASE (AND-PD)” _project.

***WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE**
- A PhD in_ Biomedical Sciences (e.g., Psychology, Neurosciences, Biology, Biotechnology or similar)_.
- Documented experience in neurophysiology and optogenetics, combined with viral-based approaches to deconstruct and manipulate neuronal circuits ex-vivo and in-vivo, large-scale neuronal imaging in-vivo (fiber photometry), 2-photon calcium imaging and behavior paradigms on model (ideally, anxiety and depression-related behavior)
- A strong publication record.
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data.
- Documented experience in coaching junior scientists.
- Good command in spoken and written English.

**EXTRA AWESOME**
- Experience on programming for advance data analysis and in-vivo multi-electrode recording
- Knowledge of GraphPad, Clampex, CorelDraw, ImageJ, Python and Mathlab
- Good communication skills
