Job Title: Instructor - Industrial Maintenance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Instructor - Industrial Maintenance to join our team at Gateway Community & Technical College. The successful candidate will provide instruction to students in the manufacturing maintenance industry, maintain office hours, and advise students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person instruction to students on topics such as Electricity, Motor Controls, Hydraulics, Programmable Logic Controls, Robotics, and Lean manufacturing.
  • Maintain a minimum of 5 office hours per week.
  • Advise students in the manufacturing division.
  • Provide instruction to students in both theory and practice.
  • Maintain and care of classrooms and training materials.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the manufacturing industry and help keep the program updated.
  • Teach at various levels to support the College.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • General working knowledge of all aspects of the manufacturing industry.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, independent, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment and external business and community partners.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controls and Robotics.
  • Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations.
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
