Reporting to the Engineering Leader, as our Electrical Distribution Certification Specialist, you will autonomously manage the execution of projects within Electrical Distribution or Circuit Protection segments (depending on your background and preferences) to ensure that the certification projects are delivered on time and with the best quality and experience for our clients.

• Independently manage certification projects for devices from Electrical Distribution or Circuit Protection segments (e.g., Circuit Breakers, Power Distribution Panels, Surge Protective Devices, Busbars, Transfer Switches, Switchgear, Control gear, Disconnectors, etc.).
• Determine project specifications such as scope, cost, time, sample requirements, and technical documentation by analyzing client input, available data, and product construction.
• Collaborate with the Laboratory Team by preparing data sheets and instructions, scheduling and reviewing work of Laboratory Technicians, and establishing completion dates.
• Communicate with clients to discuss technical issues, completion dates, and explain UL procedures and requirements. Projects may include frequent travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites.
• Provide technical assistance to clients in reference to product evaluations and plans review.
• Resolve complex engineering issues by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of field-based product evaluations.
• Develop test requirements for products beyond the scope of existing standards, or those involving unique features requiring frequent use of independent judgment.
• Develop special test methods and test equipment.
• Determine areas in which the product may not be in compliance with the applicable Standard based requirements.
• Plan, conduct, and supervise code and regulatory related projects of major magnitude and scope.

• University degree in Engineering; preferably Electrical Engineering, Energy sectors, or related.
• Around 5 years of directly related work experience, preferably as an Electrical Engineer/Electrician with knowledge about Electrical Distribution and/or Circuit Protection segments.
• Knowledgeable about electrical industrial products and passionate about energy distribution, testing of power products, and seeing new technologies as a motivating challenge.
• Experienced with the utilization of Electrical Test Equipment. Experience with Testing and Certification services would be a strong asset.
• Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the field evaluation business.
• Strong written and verbal English language skills.
• Excellent communication skills and strong client focus.
• Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in areas of expertise.
