Manufacturing Process Design Specialist

Basic Function

The primary objective of this role is to deliver comprehensive Process Design support for Catalyst and Polymer projects, particularly in relation to plant start-up operations and technical assistance within the manufacturing domain at LyondellBasell. This includes executing Process Design activities aligned with Goalzero principles, adhering to regulatory codes, and upholding Company standards and procedures, while striving for Operational Excellence and best practices.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide expert Process Design Technical Support to Catalyst and Polymer facilities, ensuring compliance with Company policies and relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct all necessary Process Design activities for plant projects and modifications, collaborating effectively with Engineering, Maintenance, and other involved departments to offer guidance and support.
  • Ensure the accurate implementation of Process Design in final plant modifications. Participate in HazOp/PHA analyses, pre-start-up checks, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities, including training personnel within the Management of Change framework.
  • Facilitate active collaboration among various departments, including Engineering, Maintenance, process technology, and HSE functions, to produce documentation and assist in training and knowledge sharing.
  • Coordinate Process Design initiatives to transition innovations developed within the Company from R&D or pilot scale to full manufacturing scale.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation or enhancement, propose actionable solutions, and provide design support for implementation within the Catalyst and Polymer Manufacturing sector.
  • Design necessary process modifications for new product development, quality enhancement, and productivity improvements within the plant.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Work Experience:

  • A University Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • A Technical Degree with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Catalyst or Polymer Manufacturing, preferably in Operations.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Familiarity with norms, standards, and procedures related to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.

Languages:

  • Proficient technical English skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Chemistry, Physics, and Chemical Engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of Catalyst Manufacturing Processes.
  • Familiarity with Engineering and Instrumentation.
