Data Centre Facility Manager

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Facility Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Operations team, you will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the performance of the data centre infrastructure within a specific location.

The successful candidate will be accountable for setting and maintaining the highest standard for safety, driving improvements in key performance metrics, delivering 100% uptime on customer supporting infrastructure, and managing strong technical teams. You will also be responsible for strategic planning and execution of corrective and preventative maintenance activities, managing vendor performance, and adopting and planning corporate risk strategy.

This is a challenging role that requires a driven, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems. If you have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, experience in high-volume mission-critical operational environments, and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safety and Performance: Set and maintain the highest standard for safety and drive improvements in key performance metrics.
  2. Infrastructure Management: Deliver 100% uptime on customer supporting infrastructure and manage strong technical teams.
  3. Maintenance and Risk Management: Plan and execute corrective and preventative maintenance activities, manage vendor performance, and adopt and plan corporate risk strategy.
  4. Team Management: Manage and grow relationships between cross-functional teams and experience in working and managing within complex organizational matrices.
Requirements

· Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant Engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent.

· 5+ years' experience in a high-volume mission-critical operational environment.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

· Full EU/IT driving license.

· 10 years relevant industry-related experience.

· Demonstrate key electrical and mechanical competencies and theory.

· Know and apply safe electrical practice according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies.

· Have a strong working knowledge and experience of the purpose and infrastructure of a Data Center.

· Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout, low/high voltage cabling, BMS Systems, Monitoring and alarming systems.
