Data Centre Facility Manager

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Facility Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Engineering Operations team, you will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the performance of the data centre infrastructure within a specific location.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Set and maintain the highest standard for safety and actively promote a world-class safety culture.
* Manage key performance metrics for large scale Data Centres distributed across multiple AWS owned and Co-location sites by continuously driving improvements.
* Deliver 100% uptime on all customer supporting infrastructure.
* Strategic planning and execution of all corrective and preventative maintenance activities on all mission-critical infrastructure.
* Manage strong technical teams with responsibility for the training and/or development of others to ensure operational excellence.
* Successful delivery of strategic projects on critical infrastructure.
* Successful delivery of build-out and retrofit of facility infrastructure in existing and new regional locations.
* Manage vendor performance by setting high standards and conducting regular performance reviews.
* Adopt and plan corporate risk strategy.
* Plan and manage Critical Event Response readiness.
* Manage relationships between cross-functional teams.

**Requirements**

* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent (lesser qualification + equivalent work experience).
* 5+ years' experience in a high-volume mission-critical operational environment (e.g., data center, healthcare, high technology manufacturing).
* First-hand knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, employee relations, leadership techniques, operational performance, and coordination of people and resources.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Full EU/ IT driving license.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* 10 years relevant industry experience.
* Demonstrate key electrical and mechanical competencies and theory.
* Know and apply safe electrical practice according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies.
* Strong working knowledge of Data Center infrastructure including UPS and backup generator systems.
* Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low/high voltage cabling.
