Job Overview and Responsibilities

Prysmian Group is seeking a skilled Machinery & Investments Buyer to join our team in Milan. As a key member of our Purchasing department, you will be responsible for managing Capital Expenditure within the Prysmian perimeter, overseeing Purchasing activities related to new and used Machinery sourcing, Plants construction/expansion, and Spare Parts contracts.

The ideal candidate will work closely with Engineering & Investments and Operations teams to ensure Purchasing strategy aligns with project/contract flow and timeline, supporting project delivery and ensuring seamless Procurement to Payment flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire Purchasing flow for assigned Commodities, from Sourcing to Procurement, utilizing technical expertise (SAP flow) to set Procurement to Payment flow.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Global Commodity Strategy, including Spend Analysis, Volume Bundling, Sourcing Pipeline, Cost Analysis & Benchmarking, Vendor Management, Financial Audit, and Technical capability/Production assessment.

Requirements:

  • At least 5-7 years of relevant sourcing and procurement experience in multinational companies, with a strong understanding of purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Experience in technical equipment sourcing is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • A master's degree in engineering or economics.
  • Flexible mindset.
  • Problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to network and work with international teams.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Windows Office applications.
