Job Title: Material Selection Specialist

At Tecnimont, we are seeking a highly skilled Material Selection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Engineering Procurement Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) Projects team, you will be responsible for ensuring the selection of materials for our projects in the oil & gas, petrochemicals, fertilizer processing industries, and power plants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review contractual documentation and ensure compliance with safety and cost-effectiveness criteria.
  • Conduct material selection, including corrosion rate evaluation, selection of proper material grade, and definition of requirements for specific corrosive fluids.
  • Develop and review laboratory corrosion testing procedures.
  • Coordinate protective coating and lining activities, including hot dip galvanizing and thermal spray coating.
  • Conduct corrosion monitoring, including identification of probe types, installation of probes and coupons, and definition of threshold limits.
  • Develop and implement cathodic protection and risk-based inspection plans.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Industrial Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or similar technical field.
  • Material and metallurgical background with knowledge of material selection for application in petrochemical, power, fertilizing, and oil & gas industries.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Availability to travel to site and/or vendor workshop as needed.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
