Satellite Project Procurement Specialist

OHB Italia is seeking a highly skilled Satellite Project Procurement Manager to join its Satellites Department in a dynamic role that requires strong leadership and procurement expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main responsible for all procurement-related activities within a core project team.
  • Initiate, coordinate, implement, and monitor all procurement activities of equipment and subsystems for a specific satellite project.
  • Select suitable suppliers and subcontractors through direct negotiation, restricted, or open competition.
  • Lead a team of subcontract managers working on satellite projects, including establishing tender documentation (RFPs, ITTs, draft contracts, etc.), organizing and managing Tender Evaluation Boards with and without customer participation, and supporting the preparation of ATPs, LOLs, Preliminary Order Letters, etc.
  • Negotiate Change Requests and take over Contract Change Management activities (CR and CCN process).
  • Supervise contract compliance concerning quality, time, and costs.
  • Regularly visit suppliers in Europe and worldwide, coordinate subcontractor project reviews and progress meetings, and lead the technical team in the review and progress process as required.
  • Report to the project manager (monthly progress and status reports, etc.).

Requirements:

  • A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or comparable qualifications.
  • Several years of project management experience with emphasis on financial management and contract management, preferably in the space industry.
  • A high level of technical affinity to understand technical requirements.
  • Self-confidence and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Enhanced analytical and organizational skills, economic way of thinking.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
