Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of conveying systems and material handling equipment for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the mechanical engineering requirements for each project
  • Study and become familiar with the elementary system drawings and specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of material and installation
  • Provide technical interface with customers and vendors to ensure project requirements are met
  • Develop and maintain a mechanical engineering schedule that provides timely delivery of material to fully support an installation schedule
  • Execute the project within the budget and hours in the contract estimate
  • Provide technical support for vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors as related to inquiries
  • Support weekly meetings with project team members and customers
  • Delegate and monitor tasks given to engineering team members on regular cadence
  • Maintain project-specific requirements while applying general knowledge of conveying systems, conveying equipment, and customer general specifications and standards
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with customer specifications
  • Communicate project-specific information with other departments
  • Release drawings for installation and fabrication
  • Create material purchase requests
  • Relate information regarding changes to scope of work for the project as they occur
  • Communicate status updates to engineering management on a regular cadence
  • Be cognizant of areas for professional development, cost reduction, quality improvements, and enhanced customer service
  • Check drawings provided by mechanical designers for accuracy and provide feedback for corrections as needed
  • Perform or assist in directing engineering analysis as determined by project needs

Requirements

  • Three to Five years of material handling equipment experience preferably within the conveyor systems industry
  • Experience with executing and supporting medium to large projects
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering and design

Travel Requirements

Some international travel required +/- 15%. Depends on project needs and urgency
